The race morning started like any other. I had breakfast, quickly prepared, and went to the race center.
I checked everything in the transition area and, after a little warm up, I was ready to start. At that point I realized that it would be a long and tiring day, but this was what I was waiting and training for.
In April 2008, Jozsef Major made a name for himself when he won Ironman Arizona with only 17 seconds. The Hungarian did so in a nail biting fashion by overtaking the top 3 contenders on the run for the overall win. Then in November, finished 4th and decided to return to the Grand Canyon State in the following year to defend his title.
I started running very carefully because I knew my only chance to catch them was to go step-by-step...
Sorry, it has not translated yet. Please, check back later.
Jozsef spent the winter in Arizona, Phoenix from January to April. He had a very good race in the Desert Classic Duathlon and two weeks before the ironman he had an impressive 10th place in IM 70.3 CA. Unfortunately his bike didn't follow him to China, Haikou despite the fact he became the 3rd pro male. Three weeks later he won the Short Range Duathlon Hungarian Championship and now he is ready for the big show...
A strong field come together this year so a good and exciting race is expected. You can follow Jozsef in live, just looking for the orange and blue Tribe colors.
Jozsef won the Short Range Duathlon National Championship on May 9th. Congratulation! (You can read the race report in his blog.)
